I'm 46 and have been a public librarian for 24 years, even though my degree is in biology! I have been married 24 years & have one son, almost 19. As far as writing goes, I've always loved it & found a way to do it in some form, whether writing press releases & news stories for the library, serving as contributing editor for a"storytime" magazine & writing fingerplays & flannel board stories for them, or just getting out frustrations. Used to be active in my state poetry society, but dropped out after birth of my son when, well, LIFE interfered!
